Sober Up

Awakened to the power of my 24 hours.
First sour, thoughts devour when I think of the hour. Wait! Hold on, this is not the hour to be sour. Switch up, wake up, sober up. Life is not over, use it, don’t snooze it. What a shame if you lose it. Life pays if you choose it.
Talk is cheap. Action – – is everything.
Give it a voice, actions speak choice.
Not once but repeatedly, every 24 hours.
Now sober to the power — of each — and every –hour.
I gain momentum; I’m on track.
I fall two steps back, when I think I can slack.
Success is won when I know I’m not done.
Wake up, remain sober, life is not over.
If today you said, “Nay” to your own body of clay,
Think now about the day — your soul, when you’re grey.
Play? Yes you may, but tomorrow you’ll pay.
Each finds his own way, so it’s not okay
To “live” in the day – – yet squander it away.
You decide your pay; in how you spend each day.
You write your check; you pay your way.
Distractions are an enemy, procrastination a recipe,
When it comes to your destiny, they suck out tenacity.
Whatever your fantasy, drop it for reality.
No joke, stay woke and aware of the power of 24 hours.
